Al Zahbi is the major new city
in the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion. Rather
large and fiendishly designed, the city has all the normal uses of
Jeuno with
some new ToAU things mixed in. You can access your mog house, Jeuno’s
auction and delivery services
and your crafting guild for support and supplies. You can also use and
maintain your new mog locker, use this as a staging point for assaults,
and complete a whole slew of new quests.
As with the Tavnazian
Safehold guide, the information on
this page may be insultingly obvious to some of you. However, after
hearing the
100th “hey were do I start the blue mage quest?” or “where’s
the
home point?” or “I can’t find the map seller guy!” shout I decided to
take
matters into my own hands. So it’s all here.

Where is the White
Gate Anyway?
Al Zahbi is divided into three parts. Aht Urhgan Whitegate;
the largest and focus of this page, Al Zahbi; a smaller connected area
where
the guilds are and the besieged attatcks take place, and Nashmau, a
town that
is connected via the boat the leaves from Whitegate’s northern port.
All three zones have the same basic architecture:
square
areas rimmed with an upper balcony and connected with a maze of
bridges. NPCs
and town functions are all over both levels and some areas can only be
accessed
from the top level, others the bottom. Even for someone like me that’s
explored
this city for hours getting from one area to another is still a hassle.

(clean
version of the map)
This page only covers Aht Urhgan Whitegate as
labeled above.
While the Al Zahbi and Nashmau have their uses, most of the good stuff
is in
Whitegate and that’s where the NPCs that everyone is seeking are
hiding. I may
add the other two zones later on. Also I'm not going to talk about
locations that are CLEARLY labeled on the map such as the auction house
and residence. If you can't find those two on your map may God have
mercy on your soul.
Town Functions
Home Point (H-9) bottom level
Function: set your... home point... >_>
It's common practice for high level players to just bind their home
point at the mog house in Lower Jeuno. However, Aht Urghan Whitegate is
such a convienent city that this home point is worth using. It's right
in the center of town and there's a taru nearby that will teleport you
back to Jeuno quickly.

Asrahd (E-8) bottom level
Function: sanction
Sanction is Aht Urhgan's version of signet. I'll explain that on the
Aht Urhgan is Different page. Anyway, you want sanction whenever you're
getting exp in these areas and old Asrahd is the only guy in the
Whitegate that can give it to you.
Sharin-Garin (L-8) bottom level
Function: Runic Portal operation
This little taru will explain all about Runic Portals and will give you
a pass to use one for 200 imperial standing points. Remember that you
don't need said pass if you're going on an assault.
Fubruhn (F-11) bottom level
Function: Mog Locker stuff
Fubruhn is the guy you give a bronzepiece to in order to renew your mog
locker lease. He will also upgrade your locker's space if you trade him
additional currency. You need to have completed ToAU mission 2 and
gotten the chat from Naja about mog lockers in order to access yours.

Ugrihd (G-9) upper level
Function: exchanging ISP for currency
If you find yourself on a quest that requires imperial currency and
you're a bit shy, Ugrihd will sell you some in exchange for some of
your imperial standing points.
Drahbah (F-6) bottom level
Function: appraisals
If you find a ??? item on one of your adventures, Drahbah will identify
it for a small fee. Just don't expect anything too spectacular.
Prillaure (I-8) bottom level
Function: cutscene bard
Prillaure will let you remember all your wacky adventures that have
taken place in the Whitegate.
Koyol-Futenol (E-9) bottom level
Function: title bard
Use this taru to get back any Aht Urhgan related titles you've found on
your adventures.

"Hidden Fortresses"
(H-7) bottom for Bhauflau Thickets and (H-10) bottom for Wajaom
Woodlands
Function: transport outside
These pathways lead to "hidden fortesses" controlled by the Empire. In
reality they're just a shortcut outside to the surrounding wilderness
without needed to go through Al Zahbi. But time saved is worth it,
right?
Kaduro-Haiduru (G-6) top level
Function: Jeuno teleport
This guy isn't labeled on my map for a reason. He'll teleport you to
Jeuno but demands an imperial silverpiece before he'll do it. Yeowch.
There's another tarutaru in Al Zahbi that will do basically the same
service for free. So don't use this guy.
ToAU Key
NPCs

Naja Salaheem (I-10) upper level
The leader of Salaheem's Sentinels, Naja is your main mission NPC.
She's also a crazy mithra that's probably knocked a dozen holes in her
own desk with that morning star.
Rytaal (K-10) bottom level
Talk to Rytaal to sign up for assault missions. You need to be on ToAU
mission 3 before he'll let you do it.
Quest
NPCs
I'm pretty sure there is an "Alh Urhgan fame" so do as many quests as
you can. I'm not listing them all here but will include the most
popular and rewarding ones.

Waoud (J-10) upper level
Quest: An Empty Vessel
Prerequisites: none
Reward: blue mage unlock quest
Waoud will offer a divination and ask you a series of questions. This
is actually the first step in becoming a blue mage. I spelled out all
the details on
this page here.
Dkhaaya (G-9) bottom level
Quest: Olduum
Prerequisites: none
Reward: Olduum Ring
The Olduum Ring is similar to the
Tavnazian
Ring in that it will allow
you to teleport near to Al Zahbi once every 20 hours. It's very useful
if you can't keep your home point here. Again I'm compiling the
information on its
own seperate page.
Shop NPCs
There are a bazillion shops in Al Zahbi. If you'd want to actually buy
anything from them or not is a different matter.

Riyadahf
Selling: maps
You can pick up the map of the entire city for a mere 600 gil, and maps
of Nashmau, Bhauflau Thickets, and Wajaom Woodlands for 3000 gil each.
I recomend them all.
